Surcos (Spanish for Vineyard Rows) makes reference to the many rows of vineyard that we have carefully tended to over the last five decades.
These are sites from where we source grapes and make our own family wine.
Los Carneros
Located on the Napa side of Carneros, this is a cooler climate region on a warmer site that lends itself to terroir-based wines. We source from here to create our Rose, Pinot Noir and Tempranillo.
Lake County
The Lake County wine-growing region is divided into seven recognized appellations, each with its own terroir, or sense of place, that produces grapes and wines of compelling quality and character. From this site we create our Sauvignon Blanc, displaying the classic characteristics one might expect from this varietal in California.
Oak Knoll
The Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley AVA is an American Viticultural Area located within Napa Valley AVA at the southern end of the valley floor. The appellation’s close proximity to San Pablo Bay results in a climate that is cooler and more moderate than any region in Napa Valley other than the Los Carneros AVA. We are humbled to receive Cabernet grapes from this area and so proud of making wine so true to what Napa Valley is known for.
Family Vineyard
In 2020 we were finally able to harvest our first vintage from our own vineyard. We were able to lease this land and start expanding the dream to include growing our own grapes and owning our wines from dirt to bottle. The first vintage of wines from these vineyards will be released in 2023.
Surcos [soor-cose] is Spanish for vineyard rows
Our award-winning wines come from renowned growing regions and are made by three generations of the Gallegos family in Napa, California.
